What the hell's wrong with Telefonica!!!!!

After 3 years of defending them against the many disgruntled, we have now joined the dissatisfied. 6 months ago we moved into a new house, 6 months later still no telephone!!! We need a telephone post outside the house - we've been told by the engineers who came to the house - Twice! Where is it? We could have grown one by now!!

Apparently, it could be another 6 months.....or even longer!

Do Telefonica realise that it's the year 2006? We're not in the middle of the mountains or off the beaten track, we're only 40 minutes from the centre of the capital city - Madrid!! Things like this keep Spain 30 years behind the rest of Europe.

Wow, Baby baby!

After spending this last evening in La Paz hospital in Madrid, we now find ourselves to be the proud parents of Baby Alicia. She was born at 11.55 Madrid time , 22 July 2004 and weighed in at 3.5kg.

Las Fallas, Valencia 2004

We took a trip to Valencia last Friday (19th) to visit the 'Las Fallas' fiesta. Wow! Is this the craziest fiesta in Spain? Hundreds of thousands of fireworks (the daily Mascleta) set off by the different 'barrios' - five minutes of ear-splitting explosions that make the ground shake, each vying to be louder than the last one! Months, and thousands of euros, are spent building over 300 huge wood & paper-mâché statues (Ninots), which are built all around the city and then are stuffed with more fireworks and eventually turned into huge bonfires just feet away from the surrounding appartments.
Mad but good! :-)
